What to Expect-Therapy for Adults
The first appointment is reserved to better understand the reasons that therapy is being initiated. This assessment helps identify the impact of symptoms or difficulties in your life and work collaboratively to identify individualized goals for treatment. Dr. Keaschuk strives to make treatment and goal setting practical. For example, if these difficulties were resolved what would change in your world? What values in your life are being addressed and neglected at the present time? What values do you want to pursue through treatment?
Dr. Keaschuk provides parent consultation services to support families working with loved ones with different physical and mental health conditions. She uses evidence-based approaches including Emotion Based Skills Training to help parents feel empowered to move through difficult situations and emotions outside of sessions.
Dr. Keaschuk does not offer couples counseling or support for substance abuse.
